From 8 pm: Talk: ‘Left-wing anti-Semitism. Does it even exist?’
We invite everyone who cares about religious freedom to come to Bandito Rosso (Prenzlauer Berg) on Saturday 5 September.
The venue will open at 7 pm and the talk will begin at around 8 pm.
Left-wing anti-Semitism has long been a subject of debate: the mainstream press, Jewish people, anti-fascists and all manner of groups have put forward a wide variety of ideas and positions on the matter.
Some deny its existence, whilst other positions are reminiscent of Jewish fundamentalist conspiracy theories; at the same time, there is also much justified criticism of anti-Semitism within the German Left from within the Jewish movement.
Unfortunately, knowledge amongst goyim (non-Jews) about intra-Jewish discourses and anti-Semitism is very limited, even though these debates take place very publicly.
We would like to shed some light on the matter – without a menorah, perhaps, but with plenty of theoretical content and anecdotal insights into the community.
We will talk about the history of Judaism, the Jewish labour movement, Stalin and David Ben-Gurion, left-wing sects and the genocide in Palestine/Israel.
A discussion afterwards will provide space for dissent and debate.
⚠️ We reserve the right to throw out anyone who disrupts the talk or the subsequent debate.
We are committed to a culture of peaceful debate and will let everyone have their say.
For this reason, this talk will not be able to offer a safe space for anyone, as we will let people speak their piece as long as they do not disrupt the course of the event.
Anyone who cannot cope with anti-Semitism, racism or violence should think carefully before coming.
The talk is sure to be emotional and draining.
